Biography of Chencho Corleone

Orlando Javier Valle Vega, better known as Checho Corleone (February 19, 1979), is a Puerto Rican singer and songwriter and former member of the reggaeton duo Plan B. Chencho started his career alongside his cousin Edwin Vázquez Vega (Maldy) in the late 1990s by founding the duo Plan B. Together they achieved fame in 2002 with their debut album “El mundo de Plan B: Los que montan”. Since then and until their separation in 2018, Plan B has been considered one of the most important reggaeton duos on the scene. In recent years, Chencho has collaborated solo with artists such as Arcángel, Darell, Myke Towers and Natti Natasha, among others.

Facts about Chencho

The singer was born in Guayama, Puerto Rico. In his adolescence, he played basketball and as a young man, he worked as a hairdresser with his cousin. Once he achieved fame as a musician, he began studying to become a business manager. Currently, he has a specialization in marketing. He is also a father, just like Maldy.

Beginning in music and Plan B

Interested in the urban scene since they were young, in the late 1990s Chencho and his cousin Maldy decided to venture into the music industry, initially forming the duo known as Chencho and Maldy. Over time, this would become Plan B, thanks to the success of the single of the same name released in 2000. Although they were not initially recognized, they gradually made their way until finally in 2002, they achieved fame with their debut album “El mundo de Plan B: Los que montan”.

“El mundo de Plan B: Los que montan” would include memorable tracks such as “Dos gatas” with Guelo Star, “Me la Explota” with Daddy Yankee, and “Lento Muevete” with Dalmata. The success of this album would only be the beginning of the duo’s meteoric career. In 2010, their second album “House of Pleasure” was released, with collaborations such as “La nena de papi” with Tito el Bambino and “Lloras” with RKM & Ken-Y. However, the standout track on the album was their famous “Si no le contesto”.

This track would have a remix with Tony Dize and Zion & Lennox thanks to its success. It is worth mentioning that this is the duo’s most memorable song.

A year later, they released “Frikitona” and in 2013, “Candy” appeared, followed months later by their third album “Love and Sex” (2014). This album would include hits such as “Fanática Sensual”, “Mi Vecinita” and “Pa’l Piso” with Yandel. They also collaborated on the album “El Matadero” by Alexis y Fido and “Dame una Noche” by Zion & Lennox. Thanks to the success of “Fanática sensual”, Plan B received the best urban duo award in 2015.

From then on, the duo mainly focused on collaborating with other artists. In 2016, they released “Shaky Shaky” with Daddy Yankee and Nicky Jam and a year later “Te Acuerdas de Mí” appeared. That same year they collaborated with Baby Rasta and Gringo on “Ella Se Contradice”; with Don Omar on “Pal Muro” and with Ozuna on “El Desorden”.

Their last works were “Ella Fuma” with Farruko, Darell and Brytiago and “Si Tú” by Justin Quiles. After almost 18 years of career, the duo decided to separate to start their solo careers in 2018. However, both made it clear that the duo could return at any time.

Chencho as a solo artist

A year after separating from his cousin, Chencho made his solo debut with “Impaciente” (2019) alongside Miky Woodz. He then collaborated with Rauw Alejandro on “El Efecto” and with Natti Natasha on “Deja Tus Besos” (remix). He also participated in the remixes of “Hola” by Dalex and “105 F” by KEVVO. In the latter, Myke Towers, Brytiago and Darell would also participate.

Recently, he collaborated with Myke Towers and Jon Z on the remix of “3G” by Wisin.
