Alexis Guzmán (February 11, 1993) was born in Río Grande, Puerto Rico. Singer and songwriter, known by his stage name Alex Rose, a name with which he has become known in the urban music scene since 2016, the year he debuted with the single Orgasmo, a song with which he made his way onto the list of new talents from the urban scene. A short time later, he began to consolidate himself as an exponent of the new generation of the genre, with the songs Loco Loquito and Karma, which became a trend after their release, later he published the successful song Toda y Toda (remix), collaboration with Rauw Alejandro, Lenny Tavarez, Lyanno and Cazzu.
In just three years, Alex Rose has established himself in the urban music scene, currently being considered one of the most influential exponents of the new generation within the urban genre. Alex Rose was born into a humble family in Rio Grande, where he grew up and carried out his studies. While growing up he became interested in music, listening to artists of various musical styles, such as reggaeton, pop, and rock. Over time, he began to become passionate about the urban genre, because his style, rhythm, and lyrics attracted him, from that moment he focused on the artists of the scene, imitating them and interpreting their songs.
Since 2009 he began to compose his own songs, gaining experience in this field and slowly developing his style, with which he has managed to excel in the urban music scene. Five years later, he dropped out of his college career to focus on music, hoping to fulfill his goal of becoming a leading artist of the genre.
After dropping out of college at age 21, he decided to focus on making himself known as an artist. He started with a low profile in the industry working as a songwriter for other singers like Arcangel. Later, he was influenced by a friend who convinced him to start interpreting his songs, at that time he had numerous unreleased songs with which he could become known as a singer. Shortly after, he started working with Jx the Engineer, who is currently his manager.
In 2015, Alex Rose took his first steps by publishing songs on his SoundCloud account, such as No resisto and Cuando le caigo, a collaboration in which he worked with DNA & Yanzee. The following year, he signed with the record label Los Oídos Fresh, with which he officially began his career in 2016.
In 2016, the young artist’s career began, who after signing a contract with the Los Oídos Fresh label released his debut single, Orgasmo, a song with which he quickly gained recognition. After, he published the single Maldad with Jayma and Dalex, followed by Sex with Miky Woodz, the latter made him stand out as a new artist on the urban scene.
In September of the same year, he released Vete Pal Carajo, and months later he closed the year with the successful song Percocet, a song that in a short time became a trend, positioning him on the list of new artists on the urban scene in Puerto Rico, the first positions of the Latin and urban list of his country. Percocet went viral on social networks thus gaining new followers and admirers of his music, both in Latin America and in the United States. That same year, he received his first recognition when he was selected as Outstanding Artist of the Year in Puerto Rico.
At the beginning of the following year, he released the single Me Perdí, followed by the official video of his song Percocet, which has more than 47 thousand views on his channel.
Months later, the singles Mi Intención and Yadier Molina came out with Chris Wandell. Later, he published the remix of Percocet, a song in which Lenny Tavárez, Chris Wandell, and Químico Ultra Mega collaborated, it quickly positioned itself in the music charts, turning the young artist into the new sensation of the genre. After this successful song, the songs Loco Loquito with Jory Boy, Te Moje with Yan El Diverso, and Karma came out, songs that got millions of views on the day of their release, shortly after the video of the song Karma, el which quickly surpassed one million views, currently it has four million views. To end the year he released the famous song Toda, in which he worked alongside Rauw Alejandro.
Throughout 2018, Alex Rose published numerous musical projects in which he collaborated with different exponents of the urban scene such as Bryant Myers, Lunay, Lyanno, Anuel AA, Brytiago, Rauw Alejandro, Eladio Carrion, Miky Woodz, Almighty, and Mike Towers, among others. He started the year by publishing the song Infiel, followed by Darte in collaboration with Mike Towers, this song is one of the songs included in Alex Rose’s first EP, entitled Sexflix (2018), this consisted of four songs, being Darte and Dejate llevar with Lyanno the most outstanding ones.
Between March and April, he released eight singles in English, three collaborations with artist Pin Diesel (The Lights, London Town, Bad Girls), and the singles Rewind, Usually Broken, Show What Your Made Of, Fools and Peace followed by the album It Was Written (2018), which had 23 songs. In the middle of the year, he released Darte Remix alongside Myke Towers, Ñengo Flow, Bryant Myers, Noriel, Miky Woodz, Juhn Allstar, and Jhay Cortez.
Later, he published No la Capie, Como Tú, More More with Jory Boy, No Wants Amores with Ronald “El Killa”, Na ’Personal with Miky Woodz, and Red Card with Jey M, among others. At the end of the year, he was surprised by the withdrawal of Toda remix from the digital platforms, due to a copyright problem between him and Rauw Alejandro, since then, he has been negotiating an agreement with the artist and his label.
While dealing with the problems of Toda remix, he continued to work, it was around this same period that he joined Lunay and Lyanno on the remix of A Solas, a song that quickly became a trend. So far in 2019, he published the video for Darte Remix, a song that has more than 8 million views on YouTube, and later participated in Costear remix Jhay Cortez Ft. Almighty, De La Ghetto, Alvaro Diaz, Brray, Rafa Pabon, Lunay, Myke Towers, the artist’s most recent song, who with only three years of career has managed to stand out as a prolific composer and influential artist of the new generation of the urban genre.
