Tarek Yassin Skylar (December 5, 1995), known artistically as Taz Skylar, is an actor born in Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain. He is renowned for his spectacular portrayal of Sanji in the live-action adaptation of “One Piece”.
Tarek Yassin Skylar, better known in the artistic world by the name Taz Skylar, is a Spanish actor with cultural and familial roots that span both British, through his mother Gwen Skylar, and African-Lebanese, thanks to his father Hassan Yassin.
After leaving school, Taz Skylar began working on crafting surfboards at the tender age of 15. Later on, one of his biggest dreams was to join the United Kingdom’s Army Reserve. Unfortunately, he couldn’t pass the medical assessments at that time due to having suffered a brain injury in a car accident. As a result, he had to wait a year to undergo medical tests again.
During this year-long break, Skylar ventured into the world of writing and acting, which would eventually become a pivotal part of his career.
Taz Skylar’s career took off in the United Kingdom, his mother’s home country, where he began exploring a variety of supporting roles. In 2015, his talent shone in the short films “Venom”
In 2018, Taz Skylar wanted to venture into the field of directing, which is why he took his first steps with the short film “Multi-Facial”. The following year, he made his debut in the movie “The Kill Team”, assuming the role of Sergeant Dawes and sharing the screen with Nat Wolff and Alexander Skarsgård. During the same period, he also portrayed Marty in “Lie Low” and Betim in the short film “Final Gift”.

Furthermore, on August 31, 2023, marked an exciting milestone in the actor’s career with the release of the highly anticipated live-action adaptation based on the successful manga and anime “One Piece”. Beyond his performance in the series, Taz also lent his voice for the Spanish dubbing of the Netflix show.
