Biography of Sadie Sink

Sadie Elizabeth Sink, born April 16, 2002 in Brenham, Texas, is an American actress known for her portrayal of Max Mayfield in the popular Netflix series “Stranger Things”. This work earned Sadie Sink, along with the rest of the cast, recognition from the Screen Actors Guild Awards as best television ensemble.

 

Beginnings

Sadie Sink was born in Texas as the daughter of Casey Adam Sink, a rugby coach and Lori Elizabeth Sink, a mathematics teacher. According to her mother, from an early age, Sadie showed innate acting skills, representing scenes from one of her favorite programs, High School Musical at home. Motivated by her interest in acting, her parents enrolled her in a local theater school in Houston. There, Sink auditioned and landed a role in the Broadway cast of “Annie” (2012), which led her entire family, including her brothers Mitchell, Caleb, Spencer and Jacey, to move to New York with her.

After moving to New York, the next important step in Sadie Sink’s acting career was playing the young version of Queen Elizabeth II in The Audience, a Broadway production.

In 2017, Sadie Sink portrayed the role of Max Mayfield in the critically acclaimed Netflix series “Stranger Things”, which gave her great international popularity and made her part of the main cast along with Noah Schnapp

, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin and Millie Bobby Brown. In her portrayal of a skating girl from a troubled household, Sink delivered an impressive performance, receiving individual nominations such as Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series from the Gold Derby Television Awards and the award for Best Supporting Actress in a Streaming Drama Series from the Hollywood Critics Association.

Between 2014 and 2019, Sadie Sink participated in several series such as “Blue Bloods” and “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.” She also played roles in movies such as Kimberly in “The Bleeder,” in “The Glass Castle” and will be the protagonist of “Eli”, a horror movie that will be released on Netflix. Sink is the protagonist of this movie directed by Ciarán Foy.
