He started preparing for the fourth round of the World Series by Renault, where he won two races with Carlin Motorsport. In the next race held in Spa, Belgium, he managed to set the absolute record of the category in the race, but the happiness was not total because he was about to lose a finger in an accident in the curve of Raidillon, an event that forced him to abandon the competition in the World Series.

After his recovery, Vettel returns to the F3 Euroseries, had a good performance winning the bronze, being behind Paul di Resta. Unfortunately, Kubica, member of his team, suffered an accident in Canada, therefore, Vettel had to replace him in the United States GP, this unfortunate fact was the key moment that allowed the young promise, to be with an excellent score in his debut in F1, being only 19 years old.

He leaves the World Series to concentrate on Formula 1, and his effort paid off because, in July, Helmut Marko asked him to replace Scott Speed in Toro Rosso for the Hungarian GP, confirming him as the team’s driver for 2008.

The expectations of his performance were greater, he did not start anything well due to the accidents and the breakdowns of the Toro Rosso, he had to abandon in the first four races, although, then he rallied with to position five in Monaco and Spa-Francorchamps, then in Monza he achieved the Pole-Position, with this he snatched the record of the youngest winner of a Grand Prix to the Spaniard Fernando Alonso.

In 2009, David Coulthard decided to retire from the team, so, Red Bull saw in Vettel a great element to replace him. He was assigned a Red Bull RB5, he showed very competitive performances, but the frequent damage of the car caused several accidents that made him lose important points. Despite this, he won in China, England, Japan and Abu Dhabi. In just one year, he became a revelation pilot, and a promise to fight for the world title.

As predicted his level was increasing, and he won the championship on November 14, 2010 at the Grand Prix of Abu Dhabi,

On June 11, 2013, Sebastian reaffirmed his permanency in Red Bull until the end of the 2015 campaign.
