Louis Tomlinson Biography

Louis William Tomlinson, known in the world of music as Louis Tomlinson, is a British singer, composer, and football player, recognized as one of the members of the band One Direction. He was born in Doncaster, the United Kingdom on December 24, 1991, and is the son of Troy Austin and Johannah Poulston. Louis and his other brothers adopted the surname Tomlinson because his mother separated from their biological father and his stepfather Mark Tomlinson did not deny them the surname.

As a child, he showed no interest in music, but he liked acting more. However, his role model was always the singer Robbie Williams. At the age of 11, he got an extra role in the ITV drama film, “Fat Friends” for that reason he started attending an acting school in his spare time.

He was also part of The Hayfield School but retired after not passing his first year at an advanced level. Later, he worked in a movie theater and was a waiter at the Doncaster Rovers Football Club. In the year 2010, Louis Tomlinson presented audition in The X Factor, interpreting the song “Hey There Delilah” of Plain White T’s, with which he managed to advance to the next phase.

After the audition in The X Factor, the jury Nicole Scherzinger suggested that Louis Tomlinson be part of a future band that would be called One Direction, along with Liam Payne, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan and Harry Styles. The creation of the group was a fact in 2010, and the five young people were sponsored by Simon Cowell. During the competition, the band sang songs such as “My Life Would Suck Without You” by Kelly Clarkson and “Total Eclipse of the Heart” by Bonnie Tyler, so the group became one of the candidates to win the contest. However, they were in third place, behind Rebecca Ferguson and winner Matt Cardle. Although Louis Tomlinson and his group did not win, Cowell paid a contract of 2 million pounds for One Direction to sign with the Syco record label.

For the year 2011, already with One Direction, they released their first studio album entitled “Up All Night” which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, which made the band the first British group to debut with their first album in the position number 1. The single “What Makes You Beautiful” arrived at the first position in Ireland, Mexico, and the United Kingdom. Louis Tomlinson and the rest of the band began the musical tour Up All Night Tour, with the aim of promoting their album, in addition, they released a DVD of the tour.

In November 2012, he released his album “Take Me Home” which was ranked number 1 in the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, the United States, Ireland and New Zealand. The first two singles of this album, “Live While We’re Young” and “Little Things” were a total success in many stations of several countries. That same year they started their second Take Me Home Tour, performing concerts on 4 continents. In addition, part of the tour was recorded for his first documentary film called This is Us.

In the summer of 2013, the first One Direction film premiered at London’s Leicester Square, the film entitled ‘This Is Us’, is a documentary in which they themselves were responsible for explaining how his career had been for a dream.

In his career with One Direction, Louis Tomlinson

has composed songs like “Taken”, “Everything About You”, “Same Mistakes”, “Last First Kiss”, “Back for You” and “Summer Love”, which belong to the albums Up All Night and Take Me Home.

 

FOOTBALL CAREER

After standing out and impressing at a charity match at Keepmoat Stadium in his hometown, the Doncaster Rovers offered him a professional contract to enter the club on non-contractual terms. The agreement was negotiated by Louis Tomlinson to be a player in the development and participate in the reserve games, in addition, avoid missing personal musical commitments and One Direction.

He started in the 2013-2014 season, wearing number 28. After his hiring, Luis Tomlinson said:

“It’s amazing, I’ve really been a huge soccer fan for a long time and I grew up in Doncaster, I’ve been in a lot of games at Keepmoat to be part of the club, it’s amazing.”

His official debut with the Doncaster reserve team was on February 26, 2014, in a league match against Rotherham United and with charity purpose, where he entered at minute 65.
