Scarlett Johansson is an American film and model-actress, recognized for her participation in films such as The Horse Whisperer, The Avengers, Lucy, among others. She was born in New York on November 22, 1984, and is the daughter of Melanie Sloan and Karsten Johansson, both of whom were of limited financial means. She studied at the Greenwich Village elementary school in Manhattan. Her theatrical training was at the Professional Children’s School, where she graduated in 2002.
Scarlett Johansson began acting since she was a child, as her mother took her to participate in auditions. She debuted in the cinema at the age of 9, in the comedy “North” (1994), where she acted as the daughter of John Ritter. A year later, she played the role of the daughter of Sean Connery and Kate Capshaw in the movie “Just Cause.”
In 1996, she made a small role in the movie “If Lucy Fell.” That same year, she played the role of Amanda in “Manny & Lo” and for her performance was nominated for the Independent Spirit Award for best actress.
For the year 1997, she made supporting roles in the films “Fall” and “Home Alone 3.” A year later, she was part of the film “The horse whisperer” and thanks to her excellent performance, Johansson began to be more recognized in the movies, was also nominated by the Association of Film Critics of Chicago to the Most Promising Actress.

In 2008, Scarlett Johansson starred with Natalie Portman and Eric Bana in the movie “The Other Boleyn Girl.” A year later, she played the role of Anna in the movie He’s Just Not That into You, which had a successful income level. In March of 2009, she was chosen to play the role of the black widow in the movie “Iron Man 2” which was released in 2010.
For the month of November 2010, was chosen to star in the film adaptation of Michel Faber’s novel “Under the Skin.” The movie was released in the United States in 2014 and was the target of good reviews.
