Jesús Lenin Cota Ramírez (born January 24, 1989), better known as Lenin Ramírez, is a singer and songwriter of Mexican regional music. He began his music career in 2010 as a member of El Comando de Sinaloa, and a few years later, he launched his solo career with Mi Conquista (2015). Success came quickly, as the same year he achieved success with Siempre Firme (2015). Later came Mi Puño y Letra, Las vueltas de la Vida and Bendecido. He has collaborated with numerous artists and written for various bands. Yo ya no vuelvo contigo, Rolling One, Recordando a Manuel and Hierba de Receta are some of his most well-known songs.
He was born in Culiacán, Sinaloa in 1989 and from a very young age, his only passion was music. This was not a surprise as his grandfather was none other than Vicente Ramírez. It was his grandfather who instilled in him a love for music. Ramírez sang from the age of 3 or 4 and while other children played, he played the accordion. He then began composing, playing the guitar, bass and other instruments and over time, he started recording his first songs. He was well received, so he soon began performing at parties and events. No one could deny his overflowing talent.
So, in 2010, he created his first band El Comando de Sinaloa, however, he did not stay long in this band. It took him some time to launch himself as a solo artist, as before that, he worked as a composer and even collaborated with some groups. Ramírez wrote for the band La Conquista, sang with the band Renovación, and collaborated with Los Sallos de Sinaloa. Thus, over time, he began to make a name for himself, appearing on the radio, at events, and dazzling the audience with his passionate singing.
In March 2015, Lenin ventured into solo career with his first album Mi Conquista, which included thirteen tracks, among which stood out: El Famoso Chino Antrax, Me traes Loquito, La Fuga del Jefe, Recuerdos del R and El Mexicolombiano. Fame came quickly, that same year Lenin reached the top of the charts with his second album Siempre Firme, in which hits such as La Viuda Negra, Hay que Tomar, La Vez de las Huertas and El Señor Zambada appeared. Lenin had arrived with everything and this was just the beginning of a very successful career.
Other tracks from the album were collaborations El Rojo with Grupo Rebeldía and Mi Borrachita with Revólver Cannabis. A year later, he returned with Mi Puño y Letra (2016), an album from which songs like Gracias por existir, El Más Chico De Los Anthrax, El Camarón and La Calentura emerged. Later he released Voy Pa Adelante and in 2017, the album Las Vueltas de la Vida arrived, with songs like La Vida del Hombre, El Míster, El Bayo and El Muchachon.
That same year he collaborated with Jesús Payan on Mi 45 by El Fantasma
Later came Hierba de Receta with Oscar Cortez and T3r Elemento and the album Seguimos Adelante (2019), in which also collaborated Clave Doble, Adrián Chaparro and Abraham Vázquez. Recently he returned with En Vivo desde Mi Ranchito (2020), an album of twelve songs, with hits like: 100% Guzman ft. Dupla Real, Yo Ya No Vuelvo Contigo, El Rambo ft. Clave Doble L and Chavalo Negociante ft. Los de la 9.
