Jeffrey Lionel Dahmer (May 21, 1960 – November 28, 1994) was a serial killer born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States. He is more famously known as the Milwaukee Cannibal. He is responsible for the deaths of 17 men of different ages between 1978 and 1991.
His parents were Lionel Dahmer and Joyce Flint, and he had a younger brother named David. His parents were very loving and gave him everything they could to meet his needs, but it was a troubled and dysfunctional home. His father was a chemist and his job required the family to move constantly. The family bought a house in Bath, Ohio, where Jeffrey spent much of his childhood and adolescence. In his free time, he would go fishing with his father. Dahmer had a fascination with finding roadkill, bringing it home, and dissecting it to see what was inside. He began to experience sexual pleasure from seeing the brains of the dead animals.
Over the years, his personality changed so much that he became an introvert, although in high school he worked on the school newspaper and played tennis. He was considered “weird” by those around him. He then began to have problems with alcohol. His parents divorced and Jeffrey went to live with his father while David lived with his mother. His father remarried. He attended college and enrolled in Ohio State University, but his alcohol problems prevented him from making progress academically. In 1979, his father convinced him to join the army and he was sent to Germany, but again his alcoholism led to his discharge.
After living in Florida for a while, he returned home to Ohio. Upon returning to the United States, he moved into a Milwaukee apartment by himself. He had a problem with the parents of a minor to whom he paid $50 to pose for photos, but then he began to touch the boy, who ran away scared. As a result, the boy’s parents made a complaint and on January 30, 1979, Dahmer was found guilty. He was sentenced to prison for 10 months.
After the burial of a young person in his community, Dahmer felt the desire to satisfy his sexual hunger with the teenager’s corpse, but due to the weather, it failed.
While driving his car, Dahmer encountered Steven Hicks who asked him for a ride to a concert. Dahmer used to pick up hitchhikers on the roads to try to flirt with them and possibly have sexual relations. Dahmer realized that Hicks was not interested in anything with him, so Dahmer hit him twice in the head with a 5kg weight and then strangled him, dismembered him, and placed the lifeless body in a bag to throw it in the dump. Halfway there, the police stopped him for driving improperly, but without any suspicion of murder. The police did not notice the situation and simply fined him for driving out of his lane.
Dahmer regretted throwing the body away and returned home. The killer decided to desecrate the body and perform obscene acts on it. He then stored the body parts in a pipe in the house. Months later, he destroyed the bones and scattered them in the brush.
For a time, Dahmer felt remorse and went to church, and also stopped drinking. He lived this way for almost ten years, however, he started drinking again and began frequenting gay bars. In 1986, he was arrested for public indecency. He attempted to dig up a young man who had recently died to enjoy his body.
In September 1987, Dahmer met Steven Tuomi, a homosexual man. After having a couple of drinks, they decided to go to a hotel room. Dahmer does not remember what happened, only that when he woke up in the morning he discovered that Tuomi was dead. Confused, he bought a suitcase, put the body in it, and took it to the basement of his grandmother’s house. There, he violated the corpse, dismembered it, and threw it in the trash. What shocked the world was his behavior: he boiled and whitened the head to hang it in his room as a kind of trophy.
Dahmer began offering money to boys for sex, for example, he offered $50 to James Doxtator, a fourteen-year-old boy he met at a bus stop. Dahmer strangled him and did the same abuse he did to Steven Tuomi’s body.
Richard Guerrero met Jeffrey Dahmer outside a bar, that’s when Dahmer made him the same offer to pose nude for money. Guerrero accepted, and when they were in the basement, Dahmer gave him sleeping pills and strangled him. He then sexually abused the victim’s body.
Dahmer sexually abused Keison Sinthasomphone (13 years old), and spent a year in jail.
Dahmer met Anthony Sears at a bar. Anthony was a young adult who dreamed of being a model. He offered him money to take some pictures of him and took him to his grandmother’s house where he strangled him, raped his corpse and dismembered him. His modus operandi was always the same. The murders happened when his lovers refused to stay in the house. Dahmer cut off his head and genitals to keep them, since he found Anthony very attractive.
Raymond worked as a sex worker. Dahmer offered her $50 to come with him to his house. Upon arrival he drugged him with sleeping pills and hanged them. Dahmer chooses to take photos of the victim’s body, then dismembered it. He decides to keep Raymond Smith’s head next to Anthony Sears’.
Edward and Dahmer already knew each other previously, as Edward had tried to establish a friendship with him. Dahmer decides to murder him, dismembering him and storing the victim’s body parts in the freezer until they decomposed.

Curtis was drugged, hanged, dismembered. Parts of his body were dissolved in acid. Dahmer saved Curtis Straughter’s hands, head, and genitals.
Dahmer decides to experiment with this victim. He drugged and then drilled a hole in Errol’s head to pour hydrochloric acid into his brain. When Errol Lindsey woke up, he tells his victimizer that he has a headache, so Dahmer decides to strangle him and behead him. He decides to keep the skin of the victim, but it has decomposed.
Dahmer and Anthony Hughes met at a gay bar. Hughes was deaf and mute, and his killer convinced him to take some photos for $50. He was drugged and hanged. Dahmer kept his body for a while, then dismembered him and dissolved his body in acid, except for his head.
Konerak was the brother of Keison Sinthasomphone, the boy who was abused by Dahmer. He drilled holes in Konerak Sinthasomphone’s skull to inject acid into his brain; His intention when performing the trepanations was to turn them into a kind of “zombies” and have absolute control over their bodies. The young man managed to flee, when Dahmer went out to buy liquor, Jeffrey Dahmer’s neighbors saw this disoriented and naked teenager, they decided to notify his aunt and contact the police.
Dahmer gave chase, but didn’t count on the police being aware of the situation. Dahmer argued that the young man was his 19-year-old lover and that he was drunk so he could not speak and it was better to take him to the apartment. Sinthasomphone was strangled that day. The killer kept Konerak’s skull.
His killer picked up Matt at a bus stop. He choked and dismembered him. Dahmer decided to store parts of his body in the freezer for later consumption.

His last victim managed to get out of this macabre situation alive by escaping from the apartment with some handcuffs: Tracy Edwards. The police decided to search the house and discovered several photographs of corpses, human remains and a head in the freezer, immediately, on July 22, 1991, he was arrested.
The police had received constant calls from Dahmer’s neighbors, but never acted. The guilt they had due to negligence on the part of the police is disturbing, because on one occasion they were able to save the life of a 14-year-old boy, but they decided to believe the murderer, who in more words, words less, was a white man. Living in an African American neighborhood. The police saw an unconscious young man and after what Jeffrey Dahmer said, they returned him to the serial killer’s apartment.
After his arrest, with each passing day of raids, more mutilated bodies, skulls, and bones were found. The detainee pleaded guilty with mitigation of mental alienation, to be sentenced to a special prison for the mentally ill, but the mitigation was finally rejected. The jury then found him sane and as a result he was ultimately sentenced to 15 consecutive Life Sentences (957 years in prison).
he was interviewed by FBI criminal profiling expert Robert K. Ressler at the Columbia Correctional Institute in Portage. This famous expert agreed that he could not be released. However, he stressed that he should be admitted to a psychiatric hospital and not a common jail. Dahmer admitted to eating the biceps of one of his murderers. He pointed out that he masturbated to the human pieces and that he kept the heads of those he considered beautiful. Also, this gave him a sense of companionship.
