Biography of Cristóbal Soria

Cristóbal Luis Soria Ruiz (born July 3, 1969) is a panelist and sports journalist, born in Seville, Spain. He is recognized for his participation in the program “El Chiringuito

Who is Cristóbal Soria?

Cristóbal Soria is a panelist born in Seville, Spain, whose personal life and early years are unknown. From his youth, football has always been present in his life, so when he had the opportunity, he began his career as a referee in the Spanish Second Division B, where he worked for 14 years. Later, he became a field delegate for Real Club Recreativo de Huelva.

In 2000, Soria worked as a field delegate for Sevilla Football Club. He was with the club until 2011, and it was during this time that he made important connections that helped him advance in his professional career. It is said that he was expelled from Sevilla Football Club due to problems with the ball retrievers.

The way Cristóbal Soria expressed his fanaticism for his football team caught the attention of the producers of a sports panel show. His television debut came in 2011 on “Futboleros“, and he stayed there until 2013. He also appeared on “Tik-Tak” and “La Goleada”.

He was hired as a commentator on Josep Pedrerol’s show, “El Chiringuito de Jugones“. There, without any disguise and with no holds barred, he shows his discontent with the Real Madrid and Real Betis teams, as well as with football players such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Vinicius. His enmity and constant discord with Tomás Roncero are also well known.

But, just as he shows his great aversion, he also shows his adoration. It is no secret to anyone the admiration that Soria feels for Lionel Messi, in fact, among his known sense of humor, Soria has made known on the program “El Chiringuito” that:

‘I don’t mind confessing, I would become bisexual for Messi. What I feel for him is pure love…’

In 2018, he released a book titled “The Bible of Football”. In the book, he talks about various points of view on various aspects of football, with the main protagonist being Lionel Messi, as Soria takes every opportunity to make clear his position and admiration for this player.

As we have already mentioned, one of the reasons he is recognized is for his ‘hatred towards…’, which is why one of his most memorable controversies was when Soria created a song about Cristiano Ronaldo

, which quickly went viral.

‘Where is Serresiete?
Where is Serresiete?’…

In 2021, a new song by Soria goes viral again, this time for player Vinicius. It is a mockery of his aim after a game.

‘And when is Vinicius coming?
And when is Vinicius coming? …’

In September 2022, rumors began to circulate about a possible dismissal from “El Chiringuito” after a tweet from Soria. Tension had increased due to the comments received by Brazilian player Vinicius. In a world where respect for others is treated, the fans and players made racist comments about this player’s dance, and some members of the “El Chiringuito” program also participated. Soria and Bravo stopped appearing on the program for a time, and the rumor intensified even more after what was published on social media.

Cristóbal reappeared on the program after days of absence, and announced that he had received all kinds of messages. He explained that “it’s not easy… It has been said that you (Pedrerol) and I have stopped following each other on social media. That Florentino Pérez has fired me from the program or that Ferreras has fired me from the program. What I do know is that Florentino Pérez comes to the set of “El Chiringuito” and has me banned. But one thing is for him to ban me and another thing…”.

To which Josep Pedrerol corrected him: “I ban you, not Florentino Pérez. Let’s make that clear. Florentino doesn’t know who comes or who doesn’t come”. In the middle of the program, Soria asks Pedrerol to allow him to continue on the program. Later, on his social media, he shows that he is still on “El Chiringuito”

Personal life

He was married and had a daughter in his first marriage. He is currently married to Ana Fernández and they have two children: Ana and Cristóbal Jr.

He is very active on social media, often posting content about football players, news, memes, and comments that amuse him. He has over one million followers.
