Adelaido Solis (born March 23, 2003) is a Mexican-American singer and musician, best known as Adelaido “Payo” Solís III. He is known for being the vocalist of the Mexican regional music band, Grupo Frontera.
Adelaido is the eldest of a Mexican-rooted family living in the Rio Grande Valley. His family is composed of his father, Payo Solís, who works at Tidal Power Services, his mother, Norma Solís, and his two younger sisters. From a young age, Adelaido showed musical abilities, learning to play the bajo quinto.
After graduating high school, Adelaido was hired by an unknown group of Mexican regional music, Grupo Frontera, which played locally as a hobby. The band from McAllen, Texas, wanted Adelaido to be the voice and play the bajo quinto in their first EP.
Success for Grupo Frontera and Adelaido came unexpectedly. Their cover of a song by the Colombian group Morat, “No se va”, which they had only rehearsed for 16 hours before recording, became a viral hit on all streaming platforms and social media. Media like TikTok helped to promote the song thanks to the particular dance of an unexpected star: Elmer, the red-cap dancer.
At the time of recording “No se va”, Adelaido Solis was only 19 years old, and since then his artistic career and all aspects of his life have experienced an extraordinary boost. With Grupo Frontera, Adelaido “Payo Solis” has been constantly touring and the band has achieved international recognition.
According to the publications on social media, on April 12, 2022, Adelaido formalized his relationship with Kaitlyn Rodríguez. However, in May 2023, Kaitlyn informed through the same platforms that her relationship with the singer had come to an end. She also revealed that “Payo” Solís had been her first boyfriend, and unfortunately, the relationship was affected by several minor setbacks that ultimately led to its demise.
Adelaido’s ex-partner also shared details about her relationship with the artist’s family. She reported that communication was not very smooth, and differences arose, especially with Solís’s cousin.
Why Adelaido Solís III? Well, his grandfather is known as Layo Solís I, his father as Payo Solís II and he, of course, as Adelaido Solís III.
